Students desiring to learn how to be a certified nursing assistant will benefit from this program.

 

 

 

 

 

This certificate in Certified Nursing Assistant will provide you with the basic knowledge needed for beginning the steps necessary to acquire jobs in the medical field.  High School Juniors who complete the program may continue on towards their nursing degree their Senior year.

 Fall Semester

These classes are taken all together during the semester.

      HCE 100  Basic Health Care Concepts  4 Cr  1-3 PM  Daily

       HCE 101 Basic Life Support     2 Cr    1  -  3 PM    Daily

      HCE 112  Medical Terminology   2 Cr  1  -  3 PM   Daily

       HCE 114  Math for Medications   2 Cr   1  -  3    Daily

Spring Semester

      NUR 100  Nursing Assistant   6 Cr    1  -  3 PM    Daily

      NUR 100G  Nursing Assistant Lab   0 Cr     Saturdays

        

High school juniors completing the Fall and Spring Semester classes with a C average or above may continue working on selected classes towards their AAS in Nursing their senior year.  GIFT will pay tuition and books for approved classes only..

All classes are taught from 1-3 PM Monday through Friday fall semester.  Spring semester will require the student to work at least six ten-hour clinical shifts.

 
 

 

 

 

 


This is an intensive college level program. Only serious students need apply.
